As a christian giving is an important part of your walk with God. The bible tells us to give a tithe (a tenth percent) of what you make, and here at Church at Briargate we believe giving is a simple act of obedience and worship to God. Giving is also a key factor in our mission of pursuing God and reaching people because it helps fund the impact in our community and to missions around the world. Giving is an opportunity, rather than an obligation, to grow your faith and know God deeper.

FAQS

  • A church tithe is where individuals contribute 10% of their income to support the financial needs of the church, as emphasized in Malachi 3:10 (NIV): "Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it."

  • Offering and tithing both involve contributing financially, but they differ in their scope and purpose. Tithing traditionally refers to giving 10% of one's income specifically to support the church which God tells us to do. On the other hand, offering is a broader term encompassing any act of providing financial support, whether to the church, charities, or individuals, and may involve amounts beyond the traditional 10%. Here at Church at Briargate we encourage and practice tithing 10% just as it is written in scripture, but we also encourage giving to the many ministries we support.

  • You can give in person by stopping by the Church office Monday-Friday from 8am-4pm.
